CONTRACT

US $ 2,697,000

Project Summary

The work includes emergency repair and reconstruction of eroded areas of the east levee embankment of the Rio Grande de Manati at Barceloneta Levee System. Rain and wind associated with Hurricane Maria eroded the toe and part of the riverside slope of the east levee from Station 10+00 to 25+40.

The reconstruction will require placement of fill to the original dimensions of the levee less the thickness of the riprap layer. The fill will be benched into the existing levee and compacted. A geotextile will be placed over the compacted fill. Bedding stone and riprap will be placed over the geotextile and brought to the original dimensions of the levee embankment. After the reconstruction is complete, all disturbed areas not covered by riprap are to be sodded.

The Scope

  • Clearing the site and disposal of vegetation and debris.
  • Levee excavation and fill.
  • Geotextile installation.
  • Bedding stone and Riprap.
  • Sodding.
